Our first article this month deals with web site content.

Captains Tom Hall and Michael Caserta has us re-write their web sites.

Our second article chronicles the continuing growth and high traffic of the TSFGw.

Content is King

The one indisputable fact about web sites that rank high in the search engines is content.  These sites have large amounts of relevant and timely content.

So, just what is content?  Well, you're reading content right now.  Content is basically the writing on the page.  It includes other things also, such as link text, bubble help on graphics, etc; but the text that is put on your web page is what the search engines look at when they assign rankings.

You can't just throw a bunch of web pages together and publish them on your site.  There are a couple of caveats to the "Content is King" rule.

The first is that the content you put on your web site must be relevant.  In other words, if your web site is about you fishing guide service, then the content that you put on your web site should be about fishing the Texas Gulf Coast, or the Coastal Bend area.

The second caveat is that content must be timely.  The world wide web is full of web pages whose content is years old.  The search engines mark these sites as stale and lower them in the rankings.

Okay, so how do you get relevant, timely content on your web site.  Well, you can publish a fishing report every month, or you can have a monthly newsletter on your site.  These are two tried and tested ways in which to grow the content of your web site over time.

In a year, you could have at least 12 new pages of content for your web site.  With 90% of the fishing guides web sites containing no more than 5 pages, your site will start standing out from the others.

For more information about increasing the content on your web site, call us or shoot us a quick email.

TSFGw breaks 60,000 hits

The TSFGw web site once again received over 60,000 hits during June.  The web site received almost the same number of hits in May.  The site has a two and three position in Google, Yahoo and MSN, thus ensuring that the web site ranks high in all major search engines of the market.  Almost every guide who is a member is receiving about 100 more visits from our web site to their web site.  Each guide is averaging around 200 visits per month from our web site.

It costs just $80 per year to be on our web site

Where else can you get one year of advertising for that price?
