Publisher’s Comments
This month begins our second year of operation in
service to the fishing guides of the Texas
Gulf Coast. The site continues to maintain extraordinary
traffic growth. There is also an article
on how to improve the “stickiness” of your home page. This article is so important, we are
re-printing it for a second time this month.
In a nutshell, these suggestions
will get people to stay on your home page and contact you. And, of course, there is a section on our
newest members and now, our renewing members. There is also an article regarding our
charges on Search Engine Optimization.

Consulting and TSFGw Growth for August
The Texas Saltwater Fishing Guides will
receive 25,000 hits for the month of August.
We broke the 20,000 hits mark in July.
We received a total of 21,501 hits for that month. The site was visited 2,081 times by people
looking for guides.
We are also in the process of
performing a major update to the site to further enhance our rankings in the
search engines. This will put more
traffic on your web site – if you are a
member.
For $80 per year, this is turning
into a real bargain. So don’t wait – click
here to subscribe, or give us a call at the following numbers: home/work:

Seven Suggestions
For Your Web Site’s Home Page
Here
are seven suggestions for your home page that will help get you calls and
emails. We can get potential customers
to your web site, but it is up to you to get them to contact you.
·
Add To Favorites – This
is usually a graphic or button that allows the user to insert your web address
in their “Favorites” folder of their Web Browser. When they click the button, Microsoft
Internet Explorer adds your web address to their favorites. That way, they don’t have to remember your
web address – and let’s face it – some of you have some really long web
addresses.
·
Weather Magnet – this
graphic shows the current weather conditions for your location and has a link
for the extended forecast. Let them see
that the temperature on the Gulf
Coast is 72 degrees in
the middle of November.
·
Contact Info – Make
sure that your contact information; i.e., telephone numbers and email addresses
are prominently displayed on your home page.
·
Organizations – If you
are a member of a guides association, such as the Coastal Bend Guides
Association, make sure that you have a graphic and a link to their web site. This tells visitors to your site that you are
a reputable guide and are a member of a professional organization with rules,
ethics, drug testing programs, etc.
·
Lodging and
Accomodations – State on your home page that you can assist with
lodging and accommodations. Establish
reciprocal links with these businesses, if possible.
·
Restaurants – State
on your home page that you know the best restaurants. Again, establish reciprocal links, if
possible.
·
Pictures - Put a
picture on your home page of a kid with a fish that’s bigger than he is.
·
Your picture – Make
sure that your picture is on the home page of your web site.
