Our Second Anniversary

.  The Texas Saltwater Fishing Guides web has now completed two years of operation.  As we enter our third year of service to the saltwater fishing guides of Texas, we continue to maintain our high standards of customer service.  Our prices have not increased.  You can still purchase a one year subscription for just $80.

Photo Gallery Pages

Every saltwater fishing guides’ web site should have a photo gallery page, and just about every guide’s web site that I have seen does have a photo gallery.  Here are some tips that you might want to follow with your photo gallery page.

Properly Use Thumbnails

Thumbnails are miniatures of your picture.  They are very small files, thus your page will load in an acceptable amount of time with as many as 50 of them on the page.

Your thumbnail images should be large enough so that people can clearly see what the picture shows.

Your thumbnails should also have a caption of some kind.  The caption can inform people about the fish that was caught, when the picture was taken, where it was taken, etc.

Your newest thumbnails should be at the top of the page.  This lets people browsing the site know that you are keeping the site up to date – and that you are an active fishing guide.

Archive Your Old Pages

Don’t just delete last year’s photo gallery.  Archive it on your web site so that browsers can see that you have been guiding for a long time and produce good results for your customers.

This also has the advantage of growing your web site.  In general, the more pages that you have on your site, the higher it will rank in the search engines.

Maintaining Your Photo Gallery

You should maintain the photo gallery pages of your web site with as much care as you would use in maintaining your family’s picture album.

Try to take pictures on almost every trip and write some notes for your captions.

Let your customers know that pictures of their catch will be on your web site.  Your customer can then show his/her friends pictures of the catch from your site.

And they might just decide to book a trip with you so they can catch fish like that.
