 Publisher’s Comments

The Texas Saltwater Fishing Guides web celebrates its one-year anniversary this month.  The web site maintains its commitment to providing quality advertising for saltwater fishing guides, while providing a robust selection of information for potential customers looking for a fishing guide.

Traffic on the web site has increased to the point where each guide’s web site is receiving approximately 90 visits per month from us.  The site will had 20,000 hits in July.  If just one of these visitors turns into a customer, then your investment of $80 per year has paid for itself.

Our range of services has increased to the point where we are now your “One Stop” source for Internet Services.  We provide domain administration, web site hosting, design, advertising, Search Engine Optimization, Maintenance, and Graphics services.

We continue to offer that good old-fashioned customer service.  When you call, I answer.  Your emails come directly to me.  So when you have a problem or a question, you don’t have to worry about when I am going to call you back.  I attend every monthly meeting of the Coastal Bend Guides Association, and am available to attend the meetings of any other organizations.

As we begin our second year of service to the guides of the Gulf Coast, I want to reiterate my personal commitment to you, your business, and your profession.

Seven Suggestions For Your Web Site’s Home Page

Here are six suggestions for your home page that will help get you calls and emails.  We can get potential customers to your web site, but it is up to you to get them to contact you.

·        Weather Magnet – this graphic shows the current weather conditions for your location and has a link for the extended forecast.

·        Contact Info – Make sure that your contact information; i.e., telephone numbers and email addresses are prominently displayed on your home page.

·        Organizations – If you are a member of a guides association, such as the Coastal Bend Guides Association, make sure that you have a graphic and a link to their web site.

·        Lodging and Accomodations – State on your home page that you can assist with lodging and accommodations.  Establish reciprocal links with these businesses, if possible.

·        Restaurants – State on your home page that you know the best restaurants.  Again, establish reciprocal links, if possible.

·        Put a picture on your home page of a kid with a fish that’s bigger than he is.

·        Make sure that your picture is on the home page of your web site.

Continued Growth for Steve Purcell Consulting
